* "Navarro's Notes' "Never Forgotten" 8Th Installment: A Canadian Icon *

17 years ago, I turned on my TV and there was a larger than life personality hosting a show that appealed to my musical tastes. It was Master T hosting "X-Tendamix" on MuchMusic.

Along, with his trusty keyboard "Roxy" he entertained the viewing audience, he interviewed the biggest stars, he introduced each hot video & had in studio performances. He carried it over to "Rap City" & "Da Mix".

Ever since he had taken over on Much Music, he was the entire station to me. The one thing that always impressed me about T, was the fact that he never seemed to be star struck with anyone that he ever interviewed.

Master T, always seemed to have a real knack for being in front of a camera and live studio audience. He was a natural star and he made the viewers at home and in the audience feel like everyone was in on the conversation that involved him. He also took his star power and smartly parlayed his success into various ventures including the one shown beneath.

Over the years, I have lost all of my favorite moments from the shows in which he had live freestyle performances from the elite of the Reggae & Dancehall scene.

But I will never forget. His personality on air and his shows will forever be etched in my memory. He put a lot of big names on the Toronto grand stage. Good to see he is alive and well and still in the Toronto music scene. Look him up and I am sure he will be happy to hear from his fans.

Before closing this quick trip down memory lane, I will always remember T as the man that was one of the last that interviewed the late great Tupac just days before he was murdered in September 1996. Below is the legendary video:

Well everyone, hope you enjoyed this quick blast from the past. Master T, if you ever see this, thank you for all the great memories.

And know, that you will be: Never Forgotten.
